WOD 2: TEXAS LEAGUER
8:00 CAP
Deadlift + Hang Clean + Hang Clean + Shoulder-to-Overhead
All Athletes will be staged behind the start line. At 3, 2, 1, Go, the first athlete will enter the workout area and begin her first attempt at the complex while the second and third athletes rest. The barbell must start empty. Teams will be provided the following plates: 2 x 45lb, 2 x 25lb, 2 x 15lb, 2 x 10lb, 2 x 5lb, 2 x 2.5lb and Oso clips. Athletes who are not attempting a lift may help load the barbell. The smallest plates must be on the outside of the barbell (5lb and 2.5lb). Once the barbell is loaded with the desired weight, the first athlete will make her first attempt at the weight. All athletes are not required to make attempt at every loaded weight, but can take as many attempts as they would like. Athletes may attempt the same weight multiple times, but they cannot lower the weight to reattempt a lift. There is no set order for the athletes to lift, but once weight has been loaded on the bar it may not be removed for all lifters. All lifts must be completed within the time frame.
Movement Standards:
DEADLIFT: This is a traditional deadlift with the hands outside the knees. Sumo deadlifts are not allowed. Starting on the floor, the barbell is lifted until the hips and knees reach full extension with the head and shoulders behind the bar. The arms must be straight throughout. Dropping is permitted from the top. Touch and go in permitted.
HANG CLEAN: The movement begins with the barbell at the hip and must be lifted to the shoulder in one motion. For the repetition to count, the athlete must receive the barbell in the front rack position where they are standing vertically in a fully lockout position with the hips and knees fully extended. The feet must be in line with another with the barbell clearly over or behind the center of the athlete’s body. Elbows must clearly break the vertical plane of the barbell when in the front rack position. A hang muscle clean, hang power clean, hang split clean, or hang squat clean may be used as long as the barbell comes to the shoulders in one motion with the hips and knees fully extended. A squat is not required.
SHOULDER-TO-OVERHEAD: The barbell begins in the front rack after the hang clean is completed. The barbell must be taken overhead. Shoulder press, push-press, push-jerk, and split-jerk will all be permitted. If the athlete split jerks, the feet must come back in line with each other and under the athlete’s body prior to lowering the barbell. The barbell must come to a full lockout overhead with the hips, knees and arms fully extended, and directly over the body. Press outs will be accepted.
Scoring:
There are two scores for this event. Teams in each division will be ranked based on the sum of the heaviest lifts for all three athletes combined and the heaviest completed lift for each team.
