Spectator COVID Event Details

Posted on

Due to the difficulty of crowd control and local covid regulations, this year we will not be allowing spectators. We will be allowing each team to bring a single “Coach” with them, who will have a designated wrist band. We have suggested that each team has their coach providing live video for their team to help us in getting streaming video out. We will do our best to provide as much coverage as possible for the event. We recognize this is not ideal, but our focus is going to be entirely on the athletes and the competition itself.

Our goal this year was to host safely while still providing a fantastic event. We understand the lack of spectators can be disheartening and frustrating, but we don’t like it either! The spectators cheers, support and overall energy helps make our event what it is.

We look forward to hosting our 8th annual event and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding in advance.

ALOTO8 Safety Protocols

Posted on Updated on

We are looking forward to hosting our 8th annual A League of Their Own Challenge on Saturday, February 6, 2021. With the current COVID-19 situation, we are looking at all options to make sure that we can host a safe event within the CDC guidelines. We have multiple plans laid out on how to run the event making it as safe as possible. Whether that means that we have an outdoor event versus indoor event, or we limit spectators and vendors, will make sure that the event is still on.

With things in an ever changing environment, we will keep everyone up to date on everything that is happening as we approach the event. If for whatever we unable to host the event, we will either issue refunds or reschedule the event. In the end, our goal is to host a safe, fun and challenging event like we do every year and hope you can join us!

FAQ:
1. What if one of our teammates get sick, is under quarantine, or is injured?
Your team can replace that teammate with another athlete all the way up to the event date. The only thing we cannot change would be the shirt size.

2. What safety protocols are you implanting for the event?
We will make sure the event can run within the CDC guidelines and safety protocols. With things in an ever changing environment, we will keep everyone up to date on what is happening as we approach the event.

3. Will you have hand sanitizing stations?
Yes, we will have hand sanitizing stations and/or hand washing stations.

I cannot say thank you enough to all the athletes, spectators, volunteers, and vendors of #ALOTO7!  It was amazing to watch our community come together in support of such strong and admirable women.  I am truly proud of the sportsmanship, athleticism, and camaraderie displayed by all of our competitors on Game Day.  We hope you all had a great time, and we are already looking forward to #ALOTO8!

We are also thrilled to announce that as a community, we almost $1,800 for Kinetic Kids!  These funds will be donated directly to KK and help them continue to provide sports and recreation programs not typically available to children with special needs, and foster the development of courage, self esteem, pride and joy so these children can achieve new possibilities previously unimaginable.  Thank you again to everyone who came out!
